To start with, I can not believe it has taken me a whole year to write about the biggest event of our lives. I guess it seems fitting to share now as we approach the 1st anniversary of our USA visit.
As many of you know, Scott and I were married on 28th August 2015 in Central Park, New York, New York. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Whilst we posted a ‘lot’ of photos daily on Facebook and Instagram, we have never shared our New York wedding, trip and honeymoon in full.
I have decided to post over the course of the next few weeks each city we visited and our full story. Hopefully this will inspire some of you to visit America, travel and perhaps even marry abroad!

As a family, we like to kick things off with a night at the airport hotel. You see for us, this starts what ever trip we are about to embark on early. Pre New York we all shacked up in the Sheraton Heathrow over looking the runway.
Scott Isaac and myself travelled down together and on arrival were greeted by the Tovell party all proudly wearing variations of New York T-Shirts! Love the famalam.
Keeping tradition us kids jumped in the pool waiting arrival of the Wright parents who were also sporting New York T’s! (At this point I would like to formerly apologise to the in-laws for booking them into the ‘wrong’ Sheraton down the road ((Oooops!)) Not intentional promise – Sheraton… Two hotels the same side by side, really? It’s not helpful)
Meeting down for pre dinner drinks, our gift to the family came in the form of our hand-made branded snapbacks. Now what is not to like about a little wedding novelty! Everyone proudly (Some forced) wore their hats with their official wedding title and our logo on top – Surely this was going to get us an upgrade!

An early start but not a single complaint from any of us because we were off to New York for a wedding – OUR wedding!
After hooking up with the best man, checking in with Virgin Atlantic and some breakfast airport style, obligatory make up shopping took place before heading to our gate.
Scott and I quickly felt at home in Premium Economy with the rest of the party in economy – Giving the back of our heads icy glares ha! We were well looked after with copious amounts of champagne being sent our way and a continuous flow of food.
We were asked to join the first class bar for the flight, were we proudly sat drinking them dry of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and eating every last sweet they had. In fact we enjoyed the wine so much we nearly left that flight without Scotts tux and my wedding dress!
Touching down around midday on the JFK tarmac was so exhilarating. It felt like a reunioun getting off the flight and seeing everyone – Even though we had all been within meters of each other the whole trip!
Everyone was buzzing and ready for the trip which I will continue later…
(*Please excuse some of the photo quality, this really was a trip where we were having such a blast we forgot to snap most of the time! The selfies are generally taken by me, the better shots by Scott)
